The Charleston Heritage Symposium is presented under the auspices of the Preservation Society of Charleston, which is the nation's oldest community-based preservation organization. The Symposium, coordinated by an all-volunteer board of decorative arts enthusiasts, benefits the mission of the Preservation Society.
Founded in 1920, the mission of the Preservation Society of Charleston is to inspire the involvement of all who dwell in the Lowcountry to honor and respect our material and cultural heritage.
With the support of our sponsors and loyal patrons since 2012, the Symposium has donated over $265,000 to the Society’s important preservation and advocacy initiatives.
